Clarion West write-a-thon

Want to help promising new writers develop their gift? Dying to make a tax-deductible charitable donation? Always wanted a signed/personalized copy of one of my stories?

Well, now you’re in luck. I will be participating in a write-a-thon this summer, to raise money for Clarion West. What does that mean, exactly? Glad you asked!

The details:

Between June 17th and July 27th, I will write the first SIX chapters of my new SF novel. That’s one chapter per week.*

Before I do all that writing, I need to collect pledges. To sweeten the deal, I’ll throw in a signed copy of “Tending the Mori Birds” (forthcoming** in Fantasy Magazine) for the first 10 people who make a pledge of $10 or more.

I have a write-a-thon page at:
http://clarionwest.org/write-a-thon/home/caroline_yoachim/

Want to pledge, but don’t want to do a boring lump sum donation? Donate $1/$2/$5 dollars per chapter ($6/$12/$30 total), or 20 cents a page (my chapters are generally 15-20 pages, times 6 weeks is ~ $24). Or reward later chapters more than earlier ones by making a pledge that doubles with each progressive chapter completed ($0.50, $1, $2, $4, $8, $16 = $31.50).

Post your pledge here, for all the world to see…or email me:

* I will be moving to Texas 3 days after the end of the write-a-thon, making the last week or two very hectic. Therefore, I’m pledging to write a total of six chapters at some point over the six week period. I’m hoping to have all six chapters finished by the end of week 5.

** I don’t have a date yet for when the issue of Fantasy with my story will become available. There may be a delay between the end of the write-a-thon and when you receive your signed copy.
