Issue #20 of Beneath Ceaseless Skies is now online, including my story “The Land of Empty Shells.”
Excerpt:
The rest of the birthing was hard work, but painless. Dziko and Terra sprinkled water over the clay to soften it and kneaded the flesh together until there was no way to separate his riverbed brown from her sunset orange. Then they divided the babyflesh into two equal pieces, soon to be their children.

I finally got around to updating my webpage, which had gotten a bit out of date. (The last update before this one was back in March, I think.) One disadvantage of making the website from scratch (instead of using something like wordpress) is that it makes updates more of a hassle, mainly because I chose a design where I generate icons for each of my stories. It may be time to switch to something a little more streamlined.
Yay!!!
The individual story icons are cool, however.
Thanks, Jessica! I like the icons too, but I’m not sure they’re worth it if they make me procrastinate too long on website updates…
I put this story on a Word doc last evening as it’s 8,6k. Look forward to it. Read “The Last Best Choice” last evening in my easy chair. Enjoyed it, Caroline. Things are really starting to happen for you. Coolness. :-)
Thanks, Marshall! I’m still waiting for my issue of Talebones, but I’m hoping it arrives soon. I’m looking forward to reading your story in there!
If you saw my lj post on it I mentioned in the comments that I haven’t gotten my contributor’s copy yet, which were sent bulk mail. I ordered a few extra and Patrick sent those media mail. Yours should be along soon.
Ah! I saw the post, but must have missed the comment. Thanks for the heads up.
Oh, it was just kinda funny when Patrick chimed in and said, “Gosh darned bulk mail.” *hee* Hope you enjoy my story. The issue looks great!
Congrats on your story :)
Thanks :)
Thanks, Mark!
I also like the individual icons for each story, though I’m sure it takes longer. Congrats :)
Thanks!
